YMI x BACHPAN

7 DAY SEVA FESTIVAL

Bachpan worked with the NGO Yeh Mera India(YMI) and members of the Central Reserve Police Force of India in 7 ‘sewas’ or services organised by YMI. 
Most of our volunteers were in attendance, with the founders managing over 35 volunteers at each project. Bachpan’s main contribution was by way of its dedicated, well-led team that worked tirelessly throughout the project. 
The experience of witnessing a sizeable, organised non-profit in work was a tremendous learning experience for our own leadership. 
The project was carried out from 26th September to 2nd October 2019 and including the following parts - 

1. A ‘jal sewa’ wherein free lemonade was served to 10,000 people. 
2. ‘Vastra Seva’ wherein clothes were donated among 250 people 
3. ‘Vriksh Sewa’ or tree plantation 
4. Blood donation camp 
5. ‘Swasthya Sewa’ wherein we served free food to 1500 patients and dependent’s of government hospitals 
6. ‘Vidya Sewa’ wherein books were donated to 14 street libraries.
7. ‘Swachhta Sewa’ which was essentially a plog run.
